I know I haven't finished the Lady Gaga post, I apologize! I haven't had much time to do it. But this is something I've been meaning to do for a while now. Some people might say, what's the use of making a "bucket list". I say eff them. Imma cross off "make a bucket list" off my bucket list now. Here it is!
1) Make a bucket list. CHECK.
2) Be in the audience of SNL. Get invited to join in a skit. Skit goes viral on Youtube.
3) See Conan O'Brien. Become life long friends
4) Get out of North America. Anywhere. Not gonna limit myself on this one.
5) Make mad money.
6) Kick ass, take names.
7) See "Love"
8) Clean my damn room.
9) Meet Lady Gaga. Try not to cry.
10) Go on tour. Not sure what would be the reason of said tour, but I want it to happen.
11) Own every Disney movie.
12) Go to Disney World. Tell Minnie should could have done better.
13) Have my local news talk about me and how I'm from Rochester and how awesome I am.
14) Be a street performer for a day. (Needs to be in NYC.)
15) Be part of a flash mob.
16) Meet Seth MacFarlane. Marry him. (Second part optional.)
17) Fix my bedroom light so it stops making that crackling sound...
18) Make the perfect playlist.
19) Get a tattoo, deal with the regret later.
20) Reject a request from MOMA to show my work.
21) Star in a movie, movie goes to Broadway, star in musical version.
22) Move next door to Julie Andrews, ask her for a spoonful of sugar.
23) Get a Mohawk.
24) Do a short stint as a movie critic, get fired for being too mean.
25) Go to a party with my head phones on. Dance to my own music. Get people to join in.
26) Make a music video. Be the inspiration to bring back music videos to MTV and a prime time slot.
27) Meet Duff Goldman. Beat him in hockey.

The Evolution of Lady Gaga
So, today I was in a Lady Gaga type of mood today and started watching her music videos on Youtube. As we all know Lady Gaga is a powerhouse in pop culture, regardless if you enjoy her work or not. But after watching every (offical Vevo) music video available, I would like to point out something rather interesting about Lady Gaga's work, from beginning to present. The transformation of the iconic figure and evolution of her music is something that needs to be a topic used in some kind of college course,and if there is such a class I wanna take it! Ok, here goes nothing!
Let's start off with her first hit: "Just Dance" (release around April 2008).
This song was (and arguably still is) very successful, topping charts in Australia, Canada, the UK, and in the US, to name a few. Most of us understand, this is no easy feat. The driving beat, catchy lyrics, and awesome bridge make for a top notch party song, that drunk girls can climb up and the bar and go crazy dancing when they aren't too busy trying to keep their balance. But there is something about this video that I find very intriguing in comparison to her recent work. It's rather typical of the whole pop scene and it's music. This video is like several of them out there; singer walks into the party, blah blah blah, shit gets crazy. Not entirely like the Gaga we know today.
But I feel like this is just the "foundation" of her work. Throwing in some of her now very well known poses and setting us up for just how "freaky" and awesomely extravagant scenarios which play out more like movies than the usual music video.
Now let's move onto the next hit: "Poker Face" released soon after "Just Dance" in September 2008.
Here we are, one more song further into the phenomena that is Lady Gaga! Takin' one small step for man, one giant leap for the "Little Monsters". This song made headlines for more than being a hit. There was commotion about the line "bluffin' with my muffin" and having inquiries about her sexuality. All that about one little line. Either way, a great pop song to which again, drunk girls can climb up onto the bar and dance when they aren't stumbling over themselves, which I think is driven by the muh, muh, muh, mah hook. This song steps it up with an even more addictive chorus, that can easily get caught in anyones head. Obviously people enjoyed this song well enough considering it hit #1 song in more countries than I can mention and going platinum several times over! At this point, I think it's safe to say life is pretty damn good for Gaga. The world awaits her next hit!
I will take the time to take briefly about Eh, Eh (Nothing Else I Can Say) which was release January 10th, 2009.
Unfortunately, I will call this one Gaga's first swing and a miss. This song was really only released in Europe and Australia where it did relatively well but nothing compared to her previous work. All together pretty sedate, upbeat type song which is alright. Nothing more, nothing less. The song still went gold in France, Sweden and Australia. If this is the lowest low for Lady Gaga, I think she'll be fine.

Long Time No See

If the world was really ending in such a way seen in Forevers Not So Long (which is rather believable if you ask me) I would be lighting stuff on fire, goin' nuts and having fun. Not cooking a dinner with too much tarragon and reading Esquire. I WANT TO GO OUT WITH A BANG AND A BOOM. And I would have needed more time to think about the "What's your favorite song" question... I think I would have to rebut with "What genre?" and take 5 minutes to ponder such a demanding question. And then I would die with uncertainty. So in actuality, if I were asked this question with minutes left to live, I'd punch the bitty in the face and move onto the next awesome thing to do.
